Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarbaru Prosecutor's Office detained two city government officials with the initials AA and AJ for alleged corruption related to parking levy in the city's market.
Head of the Prosecutor's Office Silvia Desty Rosalina through the Special Criminal Section Chief Mahardika here Saturday said the detention was carried out on Friday (11/16) afternoon.
"Both are arrested after we invited them to the office to undergo an examination accompanied by legal counsel. They are now entrusted to the Class II B Banjarbaru Correctional Facility," Mahardika said.
AA is still actively working in the secretariat of the City of Government, while AJ has retired for several years. They are suspected of being involved in graft while working at the Transportation Agency, causing a state loss of around Rp1 billion.
According to Mahardika, they both have been named as suspects since August 2018 and the prosecutor's office continues to complete witness statements and files. The trial of their case will be held in the Banjarmasin corruption court.
Previously, a corruption case of parking retribution dragged two defendants who had been serving sentences, namely two directors of a parking management company.
