Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - PT Suryagita Nusaraya which is engaged in the export of fishery commodities, glancing at eels which are considered to have the opportunity to be exported to Korea and China.
"The marketing of this eel very bright to Korea and China, this is a great opportunity," said Branch Manager of PT Suryagita Nusaraya Banjarmasin Gusti Faisal during a press conference in Banjarmasin on Wednesday, related to the initial export of South Kalimantan fishermen products to Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
According to him, eels are very much in demand by China and Korea, especially these fish species are very abundant available in South Kalimantan.
"As it is known, so far the shipping of eel fish to Jakarta has reached 200 tons per year. It is from farmers in Amuntai, Barabai, and Sungai Danau," he pointed out.
Actually, said Faisal, the catches of farmers in South Kalimantan were processed by exporters in Jakarta to be exported to these fan countries, namely China and Korea.
"If so, the impact cannot be directly on the welfare of farmers in South Kalimantan. Try if the eel is directly exported by farmers to China and Korea, of course it will be more profitable," Faisal said.
He said, he had coordinated with eel farmers in South Kalimantan to have mutually beneficial cooperation to export these commodities abroad.
