Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Offroader in South Kalimantan explored the Meratus Mountains area in Murakata Offroad 4X4 Adventure held
in Central Hulu Sungai District (HST).
The event with the theme "Let Muddy Don't Forget Happy" took place from Friday to Sunday (12-14 October 2018) with a start at the Dwi Warna Field Barabai.
The executive committee Alamsyah said as many as 67 offroaders came from various regencies throughout South Kalimantan took part in the adventure.
"In addition to sports and hobbies, the activity is also a place of friendship and tightening the togetherness of the off-roaders," he said.
The route that is traversed is the city of Barabai and continues to surround the Meratus Mountains region.
Of course there are some terrain or tracks specifically for the offroaders to test their skills and guts in the Pihandam area in East Batang Alai Subdistrict.
HST District Secretary H Akhmad Tamzil officially opened the event. He hopes that offroaders pay attention to safety and obey traffic rules and driving rules, especially using 4x4 special vehicles.
Tamzil also hopes that the participants can maintain the natural preservation of the Meratus mountains which are still virgin and natural in the region of Bumi Murakata (HST's nickname), for example, do not throw garbage and other things that can damage it.
Also present at the event were members of regional leader communication forums (Forkompinda), representatives from Indonesian Motor Sports Federation (IMI) South Kalimantan and Chairman I of the Indonesian Jeep Association who is also the South Kalimantan Regional Police IT Director Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Widiatmoko.
