Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Kotabaru Naval Base, South Kalimantan, has been nominated as one of the national exemplars.


It was after three Indonesian Navy fleet commandos conducted selection. "Each fleet made a selection. The results were sent to the Indonesian Navy Headquarters. From there it is tested again. So each of them carried the name of the fleet," said Kotabaru Naval Base Commander Marine Lt. Col. (E) Joko Andriyanto here on Wednesday (26/9).

Kotabaru passed the selection with Palu representing the Second Fleet Command.

Kotabaru, said Joko, besides carrying out the basic tasks of a naval base, routinely training in the skills of soldiers in dealing with various potential problems. However, he does not think about the champion or not, just carry out daily training to produce the best for the soldier.

However, the assessment is a means of evaluating the ability of soldiers to be prepared to anticipate, whatever happens, both riots and attacks from the sea and air.

"There is the first base test, the second base test. Every time there is an assessment, we are ready, both materially and personnel," said Joko.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Navy Headquarters Test Team Marine Lt. Col. (L) Rahardian Rahmadi said the naval base exemplary assessment is aimed at developing the preparedness of each base in carrying out the main tasks in its working area.

In that assessment, each fleet command sent several candidates who are favorites to become role models.

"There are three fleet commands, each sending two candidates, except the Third Fleet Command because it was only formed so there is only one candidate. Thus, there are five candidates," he said.

He said the assessment included training and operations, personnel, material, and cleanliness.
