Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Head of the Tanah Laut Public Housing Area and Environment Agency (PRPL dan LH) Riyadi asked large private plantation companies in the district to keep monitoring and protecting the environment till no fires occur.
"We have reminded large private plantation companies in the Tanah Laut to continue to monitor and protect their environment from the dangers of land fires," said Riyadi in Pelaihari, Friday (7/9).
According to him, if a large private plantation company fails to anticipate land fires in its territory, then sanctions will be imposed on the company.
"In connection with the anticipation of land fires, we have also asked each large plantation company to have its own extinguishers," he explained.
At present, he explained, based on the monitoring of by the agency, there have not been any reports of land fires in the area of large private plantation companies in Tanah Laut.
"Hopefully with the rain falling in the past few days, there are no more hotspots in the Tanah Laut," he said.
