Martapura, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The government of Banjar District, South Kalimantan, prepared Kiram Village as a hydroponic village and providing the villagers with planting training with limited media.

Banjar TP-PKK (Family Welfare Movement) Chairwoman Raudathul Wardiyah said hydroponics in Kiram Village is expected to succeed, such as Tungkaran Village, Martapura Subdistrict, where it was previously developed.

"We conducted hydroponic vegetable cultivation training for Women Farmers Group (KWT) Sehati Kiram Village, so the community has an expertise," she said.

This TP-PKK program held for two days since Monday (3/9) with the aim of training female farmer group members to provide healthy food for their families.

She said the training fund from the village funds was assisted technically by the Food Crops and Horticulture Agency and the agriculture counseling team (PPL) in Kiram Village.

Acting Head of the Banjar Food Crops and Horticulture Agency M. Fahcry said the training was not only in the form of lecture material but also direct practice on how to grow vegetables with a hydroponic system.

"Our hope is that the trainees can apply the knowledge, in addition to their own consumption, also the results of hydroponic vegetables can be an additional income for the community," he said.
