Banjarmasin, S. Kalimantan, Aug 27 (Antaranews Kalsel) - Antidrug unit of the Banjarmasin police has arrested a man in this South Kalimantan capital city on a charge of illegal drug traffic.
The suspect identified as MA (34) was nabbed on Thursday at Jalan Kelayan known to be rampant on trade in illegal drugs, Banjarmasin Chief Detective Com. Herry Purwanto said on Sunday.
"We move when the transaction was taking place. We confiscate 0.36 gram of methamphetamine from the suspect, but the would-be buyer escaped," Herry said.
He said police are especially watchful at Jalan Kelayan, where trade in illegal drugs is rife.
Earlier this month the Banjarmasin police arrested a woman on a charge of being in possession of 12 packages totaling 9.45 grams of methamphetamine hidden in her house in Banjarmasin Barat.
The woman, identified by her initials as AR (33), was caught in her house at Tanjung Berkat Ujung Street, Banjarmasin Barat Sub-district.
Almost at the same time, two men were nabbed on a charge of trade in illegal drug in the city.
The two men, identified by their initials as YT (38) and FH (39), were arrested in separate locations when they were about to sell methamphetamine.
Police confiscated 0.95 gram of the drug from the two men, who were now held in police detention.
Police had also caught two other drug traffickers in other areas in the South Kalimantan capital city.
Police confiscated 10 packages of methamphetamine from the two identified by their initials as ZL (43) and FZ (26).
Police confiscated 2.58 grams of the drug and Rp3.4 million from ZL and in separate area FZ was caught with 0.30 gram of the drug.
