Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - The South Kalimantan Regional Police sent 15 clothing and food trucks to victims of the earthquake in North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).


"We indeed prioritize items that are very needed today, such as blankets, ready-to-eat food, milk and baby pampers and various basic necessities such as cooking oil and rice," said Police Chief Inspector General Rachmat Mulyana on Wednesday.

In addition to these items, Rp300 million in cash collected from donations from the head of regional offices, the ranks and the main officers of the Regional Police were symbolically handed over by the Police Chief to the officers who took it to NTB.

"Rp300 million yesterday was collected spontaneously on the SPN program of the Head of Regional Offices and PJU. Later, there will be additional from me personally, hopefully blessings and can be accepted by our brothers in NTB," explained Rachmat.

The two-star general admitted that he was grateful because many of the ranks voluntarily and sincerely provided assistance to ease the burden of the victims affected by the earthquake.

Assistance in the trucks is carried by ships and is scheduled to arrive in NTB in two days and is targeted to be distributed by Friday (10/8).

"The aid will then be channeled to the NTB Regional Police to continue to priority areas so that they are on target," explained the Police Chief.

Care contribution to the earthquake disaster in NTB from South Kalimantan Regional Police and Bhayangkari, according to the Police Chief, also serves as a reminder so that all personnel and families are always grateful for the blessings given by Allah SWT.

"We have to be self-aware that humans are nothing. There is no great person. Ranks and positions are only entrusted and mandated and the important thing is our deeds for provision in eternal nature after death," he reminded.
