Martapura, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Government of Banjar, South Kalimantan, succeeded in realizing the fulfillment of children's rights and was awarded of Child Friendly District (KLA) for the pratama category.


 "We are grateful for realizing the fulfillment of children rights, and was awarded," said Regional Secretary of Banjar Nasrun Syah in Martapura on Wednesday.

He was representing the Regent of Banjar Khalilurrahman to receive KLA award from the Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Yohana S Yambise in Surabaya, Monday (7/23) night.

He said the fulfillment of the rights of children embodied ranging from the right to education, proper health, and the rights to play which are the basic needs of children.

"We synergize with various agencies to realize KLA, so that the needs and rights of children can be fulfilled, including synergy with Banjar Resort Police," he told.

Head of Banjar Population Control, Family PLanning and Women Empowerment and Child Protection Agency Mardina Rosana said the success in reaching the KLA because of the revamping of the criteria set by the ministry.

"Thanks to the regent's support and the efforts to improve it, we can get this national award, and hope that in the future, children's rights can be fulfilled better," she said.

Preparation to fix the criteria was conducted for almost a year with efforts to meet 130 indicators of 5 clusters of child rights and protection.

Meanwhile, KLA was also awarded to Banjar Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Takdir Mattanete who was considered successful with the innovation of Child Friendly Resort Police and its program of guide children became smart.

"The program we run as a form of child rights fulfillment and we are grateful to achieve this national award," said police chief.
