Banjarmasin (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 209 Banjarmasin student athletes compete in 12 sports in the South Kalimantan Student Sports Competition (KOPD).
11 districts and cities in South Kalimantan took part in the competition held in Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru from 16 to 20 July 2018.
Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina who attended KOPD in SKB Mulawarman field hoped that student athletes uphold sportsmanship in the competition.
South Kalimantan Regional Secretary Abdul Haris Makkie also expressed his hope that this event will be a place of forging for students athletes in this province. "The students are the seeds of the assets that we hope to be the pride of South Kalimantan," he said, Monday (16/07).
Organizing committee in its report said the sports competition aims as a means of evaluating coaching as well as attract student athletes to be prepared in regional and national events.
