Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded rural inflation in South Kalimantan in June 2018 was 0.69 percent due to an increase in the price index that occurred in all expenditure groups.


"The whole group recorded an increase in price so that it changed the index of household consumption (KRT) and boosted the inflation," said Head of South Kalimantan BPS Diah Utami in Banjarbaru on Monday.

She said the increase of inflation in rural due to a rise in household consumption from 130.22 in May to 131.11 in June.

The largest increase in KRT occurred in the group of foodstuffs by 1.28 percent and clothing group 1.20 percent. While other groups experienced a rise of below 1 percent, namely transportation and communications 0.40 percent, and health group 0.02 percent.

Then education, recreation and sports group rose 0.25 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.19 percent, foodstuffs by 0.03 percent.

According to her, the rise in inflation also boosted the increase of Agricultural Household Trade Rate (NTUP) from 102.31 in May to 103.00 in June.

"The 0.67 percent increase reflects farmers' production capability and an increase in NTUP above 100 means that farming is profitable," she said.
