Batulicin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III Batulicin Area, Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan, giveaway 4,000 packages of basic needs (sembako) for the poor.


Manager of PT Pelindo III Batulicin Yuli Wardiyanto here on Thursday said 4,000 packages of sembako are divided for two regions, namely Kotabaru District 3,000 packages and Tanah Bumbu 1,000 packages.

"The targets for the distribution of basic needs are poor people, old widows, orphans, and people who do not have permanent jobs, such as pedicab drivers who live near the Pelindo office," Yuli said.

Pelindo is working with local governments, especially the village government, to accomodate and list the people who are really incapable of being given the coupon of packages of basic needs.

The Rp100,000 package consisted of five kilograms of rice, a kilogram ofsugar, one liter cooking oil, and four packs of instant noodles.

Pelindo distributes free groceries to the underprivileged community on a regular basis every year as Idul Fitri holidays approach.

Regent Tanah Bumbu Mardani H. Maming through Regional Secretary Roswandi Salem said the local government would like to thank PT Pelindo III for their participation and generosity to the "Bumi Bersujud" community and its surroundings.
