Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru's DPRD Chairwoman Hj Alfisah said the the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) who positively responded the construction of Pulau Laut Bridge will be followed up by holding an expose through its directorate general.

"Alhamdulillah, we receive a positive response in our visit to the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) and the Ministry of PUPR. We were received directly by the Minister (Mochamad Basoeki Hadimoeljono), and he promised to hold an expose related to this issue," Alfisah said on Wednesday.

The maximum effort is made by Kotabaru's legislative council in convincing the central government towards the continuation of the bridge, which has been delayed for the last two years.

Moreover, she added, as soon as he knew that the Pulau Laut Bridge was not included in the national strategic project (PSN) by the ministry for not getting the recommendation from the Long Bridge Safety Commission (KJP).

Alfisah said, on the basis of the strong pressure of the people who want the establishment of Pulau Laut Bridge, perforce herself to maximize efforts by involving the related parties concerned to coordinate with the central government.

"We (the leadership of the DPRD of Kotabaru) together with the Vice Regent and members of DPR-RI from South Kalimantan made a working visit to Bappenas and the PUPR Ministry," she explained.

The meeting included the confirmation of the inclusion of the Pulau Laut Bridge in the PSN whose funding is from APBN, whereas the physical development has been implemented by the local governments.

According to Nasdem Party politician, from the explanation KJP had never received a document or be involved in the plan of building the longest bridge in Indonesia from South Kalimantan Province.

However, she added, the most important thing now is not who is wrong so miscoordination is happening. But it is far more urgent how to have the long-time dream of Kotabaru residents to have a bridge to connect the main Island to be continued and soon materialized.

"From the explanation of Bappenas, Pulau Laut Bridge is still included in the RPJMN until 2019. At the same time, PUPR is ready to support the mega project to be continued despite having to create new patterns or options in financing," explained Alfisah.
