Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Serdang Berdagai (Sergai), North Sumatera, legislative council (DPRD) team learned about the management of freshwater fisheries during their working visit in Banjarmasin 6-8 May 2018.


Team member H. Ibrahim Halil, Sunday, said the arrival to Banjarmasin is expected to reap the comparative study results for the management of freshwater fisheries as well as river tourism.

Sergai, which is the division of Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, also has the potential of freshwater fisheries and tourism, said descendants/zuriat of Banjar ethnic who live in the overseas.

"We hope in the future the management of freshwater fishery can not only preserve freshwater fish resources but also can support the people's economy of Sergai," he continued.

Similarly, Sergai tourism in the future is expected to be more advanced, growing and developing, so it can sustain efforts to increase local revenue (PAD), said Ibrahim Halil.

While the potential of freshwater fishery in Banjarmasin is generally located in the rice fields that later depreciated, especially in terms of extent due to overturning functions, among them into residential areas and warehousing.

While tourism Banjarmasin still exist is floating market, and the trendy form of home industry is making sasirangan (the typical batik cloth of Banjar).

For the sasirangan which is a creative economy and potentially as an export commodity, there is now a "sasirangan village" built from the banking community.
