Kandangan, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Secretary of the Indonesian Palm Oil Producers Association (Gapki) South Kalimantan Hero Setiawan said all member companies are always ready to cope with forest and land fires, both inside and outside the concession.

Currently, 47 oil palm plantation companies in South Kalimantan are members of Gapki, with a plantation area of 250,000 hectares, including two in South Hulu Sungai (HSS), PT Surya Langgeng Sejahtera (SLS) and PT Subur Agro Makmur (SAM).

"The two companies in HSS have complied with Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture (Permentan) No. 5/2018 on the opening or management of land without burning, and participation in the anticipation of the fire has also involved local communities," he said on Monday (30/4).

According to him, Gapki South Kalimantan has called for every member to follow fire disaster preparedness in their respective areas, and the choosing of Kalumpang, of where PT SLS, in cooperation with the HSS Government to organize the fire disaster preparedness ceremony is a form of synergy.

The fire disaster preparedness in HSS is also a follow up of South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor circular on simulated simultaneous evacuation and warning every April 26 as National Disaster Preparedness Day (HKBN).
