While maharawin is a local genetic resource (SDGL) classified as rare, even endangered, he continued.
Maharawin is like a durian, except the taste of its flesh is sweeter and the aroma does not sting (hard) like durian.
"So it is true if someone mentions Maharawin durian will be South Kalimantan future, because of its popularity has begun to burst," he said.
The scarcity or threat of extinction of the maharawin is due to the encroachment of the forest and making the wood as a building material.
While the mantuala since the early 2000s have been cultivated by residents or Banua Anam, namely Tabalong and Balangan.
"We hope the development of mantuala is a huge success, so it will not only add South Kalimantan's SDGL, but it will be a source of income for local people," said Samsir Alam.
