Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru District Legislative Council (DPRD) urged the central government to accelerate the construction of Pulau Laut bridge mega project which connecting Kotabaru with Kalimantan mainland.


Deputy Speaker of the Kotabaru DPRD Mukhni AF here Friday said the bridge construction carried out in recent years has not shown significant results.

"It is known that only Kotabaru and South Kalimantan provinces have disbursed funds for the development, while Tanah Bumbu and the central government still not," said Mukhni.

Thus, he continued, the longest bridge development progress in Indonesia, whose existence is so important to the people of Kotabaru and South Kalimantan in general, has not shown any significant progress.

In fact, Mukhni reminded, in the initial agreement set that the four parties fund the construction of the bridge.

Kotabaru DPRD Chairman Hj Alfisah said the council continues to encourage regional efforts, both districts, provinces and central government to jointly commit to continue the construction of the longest bridge.
