Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan inflation stood at 0,35 percent in March, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced on Monday.


Last February, BPS recorded that South Kalimantan experienced a deflation of 0.14 percent.

Head of BPS South Kalimantan Diah Utami said the province inflation is a combination of inflation in Banjarmasin and Tanjung (Tabalong). The agency recorded Banjarmasin's inflation stood at 0,32 percent, while in Tanjung 0,83 percent.

"The cumulative rate of inflation in Banjarmasin in March 2018 against December 2017 is 0,47 percent, and 1,06 percent in Tanjung," she remarked.

The increased price of air transport fare, rice with side dishes, biscuits, gasoline, and onion, contributed the highest share of inflation in Banjarmasin.

Meanwhile, commodities have fallen in price with the highest share of deflation, among others, household fuels, eggs, wet shrimp, watermelon and chicken meat.

Meanwhile, the commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share in Tanjung are rice with side dishes, onion, long beans, spinach, and chicken meat.

"The highest inflationary spending group is health group 2.95 percent, while the highest deflation is in housing group, water, electricity, and gas 0.22 percent," he said.

The agency also noted that the Consumer Price Index (IHK) of 82 cities experienced inflation with the highest rate in Jayapura 2.10 percent and the lowest in Sumenep 0.01 percent.
