Tanjung, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tabalong, South Kalimantan, Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Forest Management Unit (KPH) develops agroforestry in Kaong Village, Upau Sub-district.


Head of UPT KPH Tabalong Heryadi in Tanjung on Tuesday said the type of agroforestry crops developed is sengon with agricultural crops or seasonal.

"The agroforestry area of KPH partnership with the community in Kaong Village is 50 hectares," said Heryadi in Tanjung on Tuesday.

Heryadi remarked this partnership as one form of the Social Forestry Program (PS) by forest managers and the community.

Agroforestry areas in the form of partnerships are also implemented in Jaro Sub-District between KPH and PT Elbana Abadi Jaya as a forest manager.

Including partnership between the community and PT Elbana Abadi Jaya covering 388 hectares in the area of Annual Working Plan (RKT) planting 2018.

Partnerships are governed by an agreement with community groups, including shared revenue sharing.

Agroforestry is a system of land use (farming) that combines trees with agricultural crops to increase profits, both economically and environmentally.
