Barabai, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Acting Regent of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) H Ahmad Chairansyah symbolically handed over three hand tractors and three cultivators for farmers groups in Panggung Village, Tuesday.
The three hand tractors and three cultivators were for Gapoktan (farmers group) Harida from Binjai Pirua Village, Gapoktan Ruhui Rahayu from Mundar Village and Gapoktan Bina Bersama from Panggung Village.
Head of Agriculture Agency Zainuddin said all 200 hand tractors and 100 cultivators were distributed for gapoktan across the HST.
He hopes the agriculture tools (alsintan) are used maximally for agriculture and are treated as well as possible by the members of Gapoktan.
Acting regent said the success factor of agriculture did not escape from other supporting, one of them farming tools.
"The use of soil cultivation and harvesting machines (combine harvester) is very helpful for farmers' time efficiency when tillage and harvest time as we are currently doing," he said.
With the help of alsintan he hoped farmers, especially those who joined in gapoktan, more empowered, skilled, and spirit in farming, and together with the local government to build the agricultural sector in the district whose nickname Bumi Murakata.
"We also advise to continue to improve the quality and quantity of production, either by applying new technology in agriculture or by increasing the area and the number of plants," Chairansyah said.
