Martapura, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of ten houses in Mengkaok Village, Banjar District, South Kalimantan, were severely damaged or slightly damaged after being hit by a tornado on Friday morning.
Acting Head of Banjar Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) IG Nyoman Yudiana in Martapura on Friday said data collection of the affected residents in Pengaron Subdistrict have done.
"We have recorded the victims and the damage to their houses due to the whirlwind, and the aid has also been distributed to all the victims in the village," he said.
Four houses are severely damaged in Kampung Johar, Mengkaok because their roof made of zinc or multi-roof. The houses are home to about 14 residents.
"Houses that are heavily damaged on average because the roof is lost in the whirlwind and they live for a while in neighbors' houses," he said.
Meanwhile, lightly damaged houses inhabited by about 20 people. Their kitchen and cow sheds are broken.
"Mild damage experienced by six homeowners either because some of the roof or other parts of buildings damaged hit by the wind blew that occurred at dawn," he told.
According to him, even though the houses were severely damaged or lightly damaged occupied by several small children, but there were no casualties because they managed to save themselves.
"The aid that has been distributed is good in the form of tarpaulins and blankets for residents whose houses are severely damaged including food and beverage aid for their needs," he said.
Previously, the tornado also hit Banjar District on Monday (12/2), causing dozens of houses, including madrasah buildings and mosque ceilings damaged.
