Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The results of South Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD) hearings together with some related parties requested supervision of subsidized three-kilogram canister of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) distribution to be tightened.


The hearing chaired by Chairman of Commission II of DPRD Suwardi Sarlan in Banjarmasin on Thursday concluded, 3 kg of LPG quota is enough for the province consisting of 13 districts and cities.

The scarcity and the hiking price from the highest retail price (HET) that occurred in South Kalimantan since September 2017 until recently due to distribution problem or deviation of its allotment.

As an example subsidized LPG that appropriate for the poor, in fact, those who are wealthy and well afford also use the allotments.

Similarly, there are restaurants that use 3 kg LPG, although they are not entitled, said Sales Executive LPG South Kalimantan Aditya Agung.

"The restaurant used LPG gas for up to ten tubes per day, while for regular households a 3 kg tube may be enough for a week," he said.

Meanwhile, the South Kalimantan Police declared continues to help supervise the distribution of 3 kg LPG in its jurisdiction, by monitoring the delivery to the base.

In order to tighten and improve supervision, Head Unit II of General Crime Investigation Directorate (Ditkrimsus) Comr Hermanto requested delivery schedule to the agent till the base.

"We will act in accordance with the applicable regulations when there is a misuse of allotment, selling over HET and illegal mixture (pengoplosan)," said police officer.

Also present in the hearing were Pertamina specializing in LPG gas, and officials of the province's Energy and Mineral Resources Agency (ESDM), Trade Agency, National Entrepreneurs Association of Oil and Gas (Hiswana Migas), and the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII).
