Balangan, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Balangan District Administration is implementing the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program, so that all residents are enrolled in the National Health Insurance-Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS) program managed by the Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) as of January 1, 2018.

This is the commitment of Balangan government in supporting the national strategic program in health insurance for the community and according to Presidential Instruction No. 8/2017 that the district government ensures all its residents are registered in JKN-KIS.

But there are still many citizens who questioned about residents who already have BPJS personally, and some who arrears installment BPJS more than a year.

Balangan Regent H Ansharuddin on Tuesday (2/1) explained that in UHC program, Balangan government keeps registering its citizens automatically, even though they already have their own.

"Even for those who have a personal BPJS but delinquent up to a year or more, there will be a repayment system assisted by BPJS, and local government through the Social Agency," he said.

Head of BPJS Balangan Yuliarsih Sahar explained that residents who have become BPJS or JKN-KIS participants, even delinquent installments, will still be registered by the local government.

"For personal BPJS participants and delinquent installments are still automatically entered in the program, but for the delinquent is also still required to pay arrears," he said.

BPJS, he said, has a way to stay on the side of the community, namely by installment system, by opening "healthy savings" in one of the banks in cooperation with BPJS, among them BNI, BRI and Mandiri.
