Paringin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Another type of G-class drug is distributed in Balangan District, South Kalimantan. This drug has actually been revoked for a long time by BPOM, and it is allegedly has a higher effect than Carnophen.

The District Police of Balangan found G-class drug other than Carnophen, namely Carminofein, from the hand of a dealer who has now been secured by the police.

Balang Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Moh Zamroni through the Head Drug Detective Unit First Insp (Iptu) Suherman said Carminofein is classified as a new drug circulating in the Balangan.

"Carminofein is a type of G-class drug that has been revoked since 2013 by BPOM, which is believed to have a higher effect than Carnophen, and the price is higher too," he said.

Since the year 2013, the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has canceled the circulation of drugs containing carisoprodol or Carisoprodol.

Carisoprodol contained in Zenith Carnophen has a pharmacological effect as a muscle relaxant, but only briefly. In the body, it will soon be metabolized into a meprobamate compound that can cause sedative effects (addiction).

Metabolite from Carisoprodol Meprobamate is a central nervous system depressant and is used to treat anxiety disorder symptoms.

If consumed in excess of a certain dose can cause an intoxicating effect, causing unconsciousness, excessive feelings of pleasure (Euphoria) as well as those found in drug use.

The effects are dizziness and fainting, rapid heartbeat, agitation or confusion, tremors and seizures, irritability, nausea, and vomiting, swallowing disorders, abdominal pain and diarrhea, numbness in the whole body or no taste, sense of drift, hallucinations and lost consciousness.

In Indonesia, Carisoprodol is classified as a hard drug based on Ministry of Health Decree No. 6171/A/SK/73 dated 27 June 1973 on additional hard drugs No. 1 and No. 2.
