Marabahan, South Kalimantan, 16/10 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Family Welfare Movement (PKK) of Barito Kuala district (Batola), South Kalimantan, has renovated 102 homes of its underprivileged residences for 10 years.

The Chairwoman of the organization Hj Noormiliyani in Marabahan on Monday said the PKK Batola healthy house renovation program was inspired in 2009 after she made a working visit in Belawang Sub-district for posyandu inspection.

On her way back, she witnessed a small shack very miserable and inhabited by an elderly grandmother who kept her two orphan grandchildren. It inspired the daughter of the late Governor of South Kalimantan Aberani Sulaiman to implement home renovation program.

"The home renovation program started during the visit of Chairwoman of South Kalimantan TP-PKK Hj Hayatun Fardah Rudy Ariffin in Anjir Pasar Sub-district up til now," she recounted.

She hopes, after the term of office of her husband as Regent of Batola later expired, some PKK's excellent programs, especially home renovation and gebyar Posyandu should be forwarded. Both programs are considered very beneficial to the community.

Regent Batola H Hasanuddin Murad who was in office for two periods expects the programs should be maintained, and even better.

On that occasion, Regent Hasanuddin Murad on behalf of personal and family with Vice Regent H Ma'mun Kaderi thanked and appreciated and apologized to Batola society if there are lack and desire and hope cannot be fulfilled.

The apology and appreciation were submitted by Hasanuddin Murad and H Ma`mun Kaderi, who will end both post as regent and vice-regent.

He realized, what he has done and gave to the community and the region has not been much, even though the efforts made have been maximized.

Meanwhile, the home renovation program conducted by PKK Batola is in cooperation with the Batola Public Housing and Settlements Agency, which prepares building materials.

Each of the repaired homes also complemented by the GOW with cooking utensils, while Association of Wives of Civil Servants (DWP) aided with television, 23 types of furniture from Social Agency, and a chicken basket each containing 5 as Animal Husbandry Agency aids.
