Rantau, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 37 schools environmentally cultured school (adiwiyata) from elementary, junior and senior high schools level in Tapin District planted trees in the city forest area of Rantau Baru, Friday (29/9).


The activities involving hundreds of students led by the Environment Agency who cooperated with the Tapin National Committee of Indonesian Youth (KNPI).

Head of Pollution Control and Environmental Degradation of the agency Hj Rina Indriani said as many as 40 seeds of ramania and soursop seedlings was prepared in the tree planting activities.

"We invite these students to foster a sense of love and care for the environment as early as possible," she said.

Rina explained the selection of fruitful tree seeds on the action in order to for the future feel the benefits of what we plant today. Ramania trees and soursop in addition to shade later will bear fruit and we can enjoy.

"In the future, besides the trees we plant is useful as a shelter, also fruit that is beneficial to us," she said.

KNPI Tapin Chairman Fikri Ramadan added, "Because planting trees as our step to reforestation, I hope students can also plant trees at home or at their schools."

The event was also attended by the Chairwoman of the Tapin Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) Hj Ratna Ellyani Arifin Arpan, who continues to invite all elements of society to always care about the environment as an effort to make Rantau as a city of oxygen.
