Dandim asked young generation to know PKI's betrayal

Martapura, South Kalimantan (AtaranewsKalsel) - Military District Commander (Dandim) 1006/Martapura Lieutenant Colonel (Arm) Andi Martopo called on all the younger generation to know the treachery of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI).

"We want the young generation to know about the betrayal of the PKI so we invite them to watch the movie playing in boarding schools (pesantren) and schools," he said in Martapura on Saturday.

He said it was according to the orders of the TNI Commander to conduct a film screening of the PKI betrayal known as the 30th September 1965 Movement (G30S PKI) movie.

The screening of the film witnessed together was held in a number of schools and boarding schools in Martapura and Banjarbaru since September 20, 2017.

"Movie screening and watching together are held in various places such as boarding schools, schools, to community neighborhoods in the urban village and subdistrict," he said.

He said watching the history movie of the fall of the revolutionary hero will peak on Saturday (30/9) night in Banjarbaru and Martapura open to the public for free.

"We invite people both in Banjarbaru and in Martapura from all ages and level to watch together on Saturday (30/9) night so we can know the history," he said.

The location of watching the movie in Banjarbaru planned to be in Van der Pilj Park, but it could also be in Murjani Field. While in Martapura will be at Ratu Zalecha Square or at Kodim Headquarters.

"Many young generations have not watched the movie, while the history lessons about the PKI in the school seem to be obscured, so we want students to know the history through the movie," he said.
