Tanjung, S Kalimantan 21/9 (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Conch South Kalimantan in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, has finally increased its production to 7,000 tons per day following the operation of two cement processing machines.

The representative of PT Conch South Kalimantan Yandri in Tanjung on Thursday explained that the increase of cement production is related to the increasing demand for Kalimantan till Jakarta.

"Previously we only operated one machine with a production of 3,200 tons per day, now it could reach 7,000 tons per day after one other machine is operated," explained Yandri.

China's cement factory previously reduced its cement production from 3,200 tons per day to about 2,500 tons due to constrained of distribution.

However, since September 15, 2017, two cement processing machinery operated, so that production can be doubled.

With the production of 7,000 tons of cement per day, Yandri said, the need for coal has increased and currently reaches 25,000 tons for one month.

Therefore, Conch plans to cooperate with PT Mantimin Coal Mining which will operate in Tabalong in 2018 to meet the needs of coal.

"Currently, Conch cement marketing already covers all areas of Kalimantan, including North Kalimantan, and the demand is also quite high from Jakarta," explained Yandri.

The Chinese-owned cement plant was inaugurated on December 1, 2014, by South Kalimantan Governor Rudy Arifin along with the 49th Anniversary of Tabalong with an initial production capacity of 3,200 tons per day.
