Police chief appreciates his ranks innovation in handling forest fire

Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Rachmat Mulyana appreciates his ranks innovation in efforts to handle land and forest fires (karhutla) in 2017.

"There are many innovations in the facilities from the resort police and also the Directorate of the Sabhara to support the effort to overcome the fire," he said in Banjarbaru on Saturday.

He said the police duty to assist the efforts to overcome fire is spelled out to the maximum.

All work units from regional to resort and sector levels are deployed. In fact, open-air patrol cars of Sabhara and Traffic Police also fitted with water tanks and Alkon to extinguish the fire.

"I just ordered all units to empower the existing facilities and infrastructure so that the police can help fire fighting effort, including from Mobile Brigade (Brimob) should also be able to help," said police chief.

In particular, the police chief praised the innovation of the Tanah Laut Police that empowered the Bhabinkamtibmas member service vehicles that could carry the water spraying machine.

"Bhabinkamtibmas (Public order officer) motorbike is indeed very effective to go into fire location that four-wheeled vehicles could not through, especially Bhabinkamtibmas very controlled territory," he said.

In the muster of troop preparedness to overcome forest and land fire in the Police Field Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 21 Banjarbaru, police chief also ensured all means of fire handling of the Police is functioning properly.

The tools include small sprayers and rattan fire-fighters and iron plate, all the creativity of the local police.
