Martapura, South Kalimantan 22/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjar District Government, South Kalimantan, trained 100 integrated health services post (posyandu) cadres in villages to further improve health services for mothers and children under five years.

"The training is important for every posyandu cadre so they can better know the integrated information system related to health services for the community," said Chairwoman of the Banjar Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Raudathul Wardiyah in Martapura on Saturday.

According to the wife of Banjar Regent Khalilurrahman, by attending the training conducted by the Community Empowerment and Village Government Agency on 19-21 July, the posyandu cadres from 13 sub-districts are expected to know time to time conditions of mothers and children under five in their own villages.

"Posyandu cadres who have participated in the training should be able to better know the development of pregnant women, toddlers, and children in the village, so life expectancy would be higher," she said.

On the other hand, she expects, Posyandu cadres are also able to supervise and give periodic reports to the government related apparatus Unit (SOPD) related to data they collect.

"The data should be immediately submitted to the related SOPD so that no more pregnant women who have not handled properly or toddlers and children who are malnourished," she said.

Head of Community Empowerment and Village Development Agency Aspihani said the objective of the training is to improve the human resources of posyandu cadres, especially in the administration field.

"The improvement of human resources is expected to make it easier for posyandu cadres to make reports on the development and growth of children under five years in their villages," he said.
