13 violence cases against women and children in Banjarmasin

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 17/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - A number of 13 cases of violence against women and children happened in the city and handled by the Integrated Service Center for Women and Children Empowerment (P2TP2A) Banjarmasin, during 2017.

The 13 cases, said Daily Chief of P2TP2A Iwan Fitriadi here Monday, are complaints from the community from January to July, and it is obliged to receive and followed them up for the safety of women and children in this area.

"If there is a complaint like this we immediately follow up. If it can not be mediated will be brought to the realm of law," said the man who also served as Head of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (PPPA).

According to him, with the opening of call center service of P2TP2A at 082250453333 for 24 hours, the community do not hesitate to report any incident of violence against women and children.

"Because we guarantee the confidentiality of the reporting identity, this is a form of protection for his safety," said Iwan.

According to him, most cases received were violence against children, because it entered the category of persecution, then the domain is brought to justice.

"In fact, there are some cases we have submitted to the court, and some perpetrators who were punished. It is as a warning to others not to be violent to women and children who are weak creatures," he explained.

According to him, P2TP2A makes efforts to restore mental of the victims, because this institution filled with professionals in psychology and intellectual figures.

Iwan said Banjarmasin continues to strive to become a child friendly city and targeted to be realized in 2021.
