Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan 9/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - A public order officer (Bhabinkamtibmas) together with residents caught a snatcher (jambret), who tried to grab jewelry from an elementary school girl.


"He was caught by residents, when he tried to snatch a school girl. Then a Sungai Andai Bhabinkamtibmas and Babinsa (a village supervisory non-commissioned officer) came and immediately report to sector police," said chief crime detective unit of North Banjarmasin Sector Police Second Inspector (Ipda) Arya Widjaya STK here, Sunday.

AS, the snatcher, was snatching a four year old girl Nur Aulia, who lives on Jalan Sungai Andai, North Banjarmasin. He grabbed her necklace and bracelet.

"But people saw what happened and went right away to stop the snatcher who ride black and red Yamaha X Ride," he told.

Now the snatcher is detained in the North Banjarmasin Sector Police detention to account for his deed in the eye of law.

He was named as suspect and charged under Paraghraph 363 of Criminal Code (KUHP) with a maximum penalty of 7 years imprisonment for theft with force.
