Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The new Deputy Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police (Wakapolda) Sr Comr (Kombes) Nasri is suggesting a cyber crime unit.


"A special unit that patrols in cyberspace has become a police necessity as the rampant crime that utilizes the internet sophistication," he said, Wednesday.

According to Nasri, now quite a lot of the disclosure of cases precisely started from a cyber patrol conducted by police in several regional police who have formed a cyber crime unit.

"Because in South Kalimantan there is no such thing, I submit it to police chief (kapolda). If he approves it, then we can immediately form the cyber crime unit under the Special Crime Investigation Directorate," explained Nasri.

He said the cyber crime associated with information technology, telecommunications and electronic transactions, which are currently very diverse. Starting from online auction fraud, check fraud, credit card fraud, identity fraud, pornography and online prostitution, to hacking websites and personal email.

"Especially now in the middle of sparks hate speech and hoax alias news misleading people," said the former Director of Special Crime Investigation of East Kalimantan Police.

To that end, Nasri asked internet users, especially owners of social media accounts, to be wise in every upload.

"To remember, every upload in the virtual world there will be legal consequences if it can not be accounted for to harm the other side," said the alumnus of Akpol 1991.
