Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin City Police reminded banks to increase security during Ramadhan to Lebaran.


"I have instructed members to conduct round-trip patrols to all banks to provide an appeal related to this," said Central Banjarmasin police chief Comr (Kompol) Uskiansyah here, Monday.

The patrol team visited the banks led by the head of Sabhara (quick response unit) of Central Banjarmasin Sector Police Second Inspector (Ipda) Abdurrahman.

Banks visited on Monday afternoon were Bank Mandiri on Jalan Lambung Mangkurat, BNI Bank Branch Office of Pasar Baru, and Bank Bukopin on Jalan Pangeran Samudra.

On the occasion, the police asked the security system and the number of security personnel in each bank.

"We also check the CCTV monitor whether it works properly or not, because it is important if something unwanted happens, it can help the officer to uncover the perpetrators," he said.

The former head of Sabhara of Banjarmasin City Police also said the increase of vigilance should be done by all places of financial transactions to anticipate potential criminal acts that usually lurks before Lebaran.

Not only banks, said Uski, his staff are also patrolling the settlements to suppress the action of empty house theft which recently also disturbing the community.

"Following city police chief 's order, we also urge people to immediately report to the RT (neighborhood unit) chairman or directly to the police if the house is left vacant for mudik (homecoming)," he said.
