Police caught bodong car seller

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 10/6 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Member of Sub-Directorate III Jatanras (crime and violence) Directorate of General Crime Investigation of South Kalimantan Police arrested a car dealer who sell car with fake document alias bodong car.

"The perpetrator SJ was secured after the victim Sucahyono bought a car from him and turned out there was no valid documents, either the BPKB or STNK, when the victim submitted a mutation in the police office," said General Crime Investigation Director of South Kalimantan Police Sr Comr (Kombes) Sofyan Hidayat here on Saturday.

Police then developed the case and found another car allegedly also bodong. Now there are two cars in the same case secured, the silver Toyota Avanza with police number DA 7147 PL and white Toyota Avanza DA 8900 AQ.

"We are still doing the development because it could be allegedly the perpetrator part of the embezzlement syndicate or car theft that usually offer cheap cars with fake documents," said Sofyan Hidayat.

While in other cases, South Kalimantan Police (Polda) also secured a red Toyota Avanza with police number DA 7200 TP.

The car owned by Joko Budi Santoso, resident of Pendawa VI housing complex in Sampit, which was reported missing stolen by someone when the victim intended to submit a mutation in the Samsat Km 6 Banjarmasin.

Perpetrator who now in most wanted list (DPO) meet the victim in Samsat and claimed he could help him for a mutation. With the reason for swiping the frame and engine number to Polda, the car was brought by the perpetrator, but after a long wait did not come until finally the victim realized that he has been cheated.

"The victim confessed as hypnotized, fortunately we managed to find the car in Banjarbaru, but the perpetrator is still at large," said officer of alumnus Akpol 1993.

For the two cases, Sofyan reminded people not to be easily tempted by the offer of cheap cars because of suspected theft or embezzlement.

As for the owner of the vehicle who submit document handling in Samsat not to use the services of brokers or parties who offer their help to avoid things undesirable as experienced by the victims.
