Pelaihari, South Kalimantan 9/6 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Laut Environment Agency head, Riyadi, said the central government in 2018 will build a 100 megawatt wind power plant (PLTB) in the district.


"Currently, environmental impact analysis (Amdal) is underway by PLTB planning consultant and is expected be completed by the end of 2017," he said in Pelaihari on Friday.

According to him, after the amdal has been completed, at the beginning of 2018 the power plantwill be built in three locations, namely Pelaihari Sub-District, Batu Ampar Sub-district, and Panyipatan Sub-District.

The PLTB which is located in three locations, he explained, using 23 windmills to generate the power plant.

It is estimated that by the end of 2019, he said, the construction of PLTB in the three sub-districts has been completed and can be utilised by PT PLN South and Central Kalimantan Area.

If the development of the PLTB is successful, he explained, then Tanah Laut is the only one in Kalimantan to own the wind power plant. The PLTB project to be done by PT Tala Alam Baru.

Previously, PT Tala Alam Baru Management Aie Hayatinufus said that the company has conducted socialization and public consultation of Amdal for PLTB development plan in Tanah Laut.

The construction of the 100 megawatt power plant to meet the shortage of electricity supply in South Kalimantan.

He hopes that the construction of the PLTB gets support from all parties and goes according to the established plan.
