Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 2/6 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the export trade balance through the port in South Kalimantan in April 2017 increased 5.71 percent with a value of 698.15 million US dollars.


"The value of exports through ports in South Kalimantan in April rose by 5.71 percent and import value decreased by 22.09 percent," said Head of South Kalimantan BPS Diah Utami in Banjarbaru, Friday.

She said the export value in April 2017 reached 698.15 million US dollars, while exports in March was 660.46 million US dollars.

The main commodities of the largest contributors to exports are the mineral fuel group by 584.90 million USD, followed by fats and animal fats and timber groups.

"The main export destination countries are China with a value of 222.78 million USD, India 124.96 million USD and Japan 84.46 million USD," She said.

Meanwhile, import value in April amounted to 109.55 million USD or decreased 22.09 percent compared to imports in March amounted to 140.61 million USD.

The main commodities of imports consisted of mineral fuel group 94.94 million USD, fertilizer group 1.87 million USD and the mechanical machines/equipment group 9.45 million USD.

"The main import supplier countries are Singapore with a value of 94.02 million USD, China 5.96 million USD and Malaysia 2.42 million USD," She said.

He said South Kalimantan's export and import trade balance in April remained positive with a surplus of 588.60 million USD much higher than March 519.84 million USD.

"Cumulative during January-April 2017 with a surplus of 2.02 billion USD is greater than the January-April 2016 surplus of 1.38 billion USD," she said.
