Barabai, South Kalimantan (AntaraNewsKalsel) - Head of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Education Agency H Riduan asserted that there should be no illegal levies in schools considering the rumors of various charges or fees at school or for farewell.

The government of HST have launched free school. So there will be no more levies or what used to be the monthly tuition feess (SPP) for students.

"Every time there is a meeting we appeal to teachers and principals not to make any fees even small to students," explained Riduan in Barabai, Friday.

It different if the funds received is an initiative of the students themselves in the excitement of having expressed graduation or the agreement with the school committee. Riduan said this is still allowed.

Meanwhile, the local Education Office also prepares transitional scholarships of Rp500 thousand each for 1,335 elementary students who continue to junior high school and Rp1 million for 1,040 junior high school students who continue to senior high school or equivalent.

While scholarships for poor students from local government have provisions never received or registered in the recipient of assistance from the central government, for example PKH or others.

"So, there is no longer a reason for parents not to send their children to school for the reason of entrance fees, because the local government has been present in the midst of a society that really needs help and consistent in promoting the world of education," he said.
