Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Laut Air and Water Police Unit(Satpolairud) members planted mangrove tree in the coastal area of Kuala Village, Takisung.


"This mangrove planting activity is expected to be mutually preserving and conserving nature on the coast," said Satpolairud chief First Inspector (Iptu) Dading Kalbu Adie in Pelaihari, Friday.

In the activity which titled "Polairud Cares Environment," seven members of Satpolairud together with local residents planted mangrove along the coast of Kuala Village, Pagatan Besar, Takisung.

"By inviting the community, we want the coastal people are also aware of the environment and their seriousness is manifested by planting mangrove trees with Satpolairud," said the man who's familiar with the media crew.

Apparently, said Dading, Kuala Village community also expects local government to give full support for the development of mangrove tourism to improve their economy apart from farming and fishing.

"Our main objective beside to conserve the environment is to prevent abrasion by seawater, as well as to establish silaturrahmi and get closer to coastal communities," he said.

As is known, in order to strengthen the maintenance of security and public order, Satpolairud Tanah Laut routinely conducts various activities to get closer to coastal communities, including providing basic food, anti-narcotic socialization and understanding of radical and anti-Pancasila organization as a form of increasing the sense of nationalism.
