Martapura, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Ratu Zalecha Martapura District Hospital opened special service for elderly patients to provide the best service for them.


"Starting today, friendly service for our elderly patients is inaugurated and every elderly patient gets priority to get the service," said Regent Banjar Khalilurrahman accompanied by Vice Regent Saidi Mansyur, Monday.

He said the service provided for elderly patients aims to facilitate them to get services when seeking treatment at the local government hospital.

Elderly category patients aged over 60 years and they will be given a special sign, so not to join the general patient.

"Elderly patients get priority, ranging from registration, examination in polyclinic, and other installation till the process of taking drug, so they are prioritized," he said.

He emphasized, service for elderly patient as part of improvement of service of the hospital which has got a plenary accreditation status from Hospital Accreditation Commission (KARS).

"We keep trying to improve health services, because health is one of the basic rights that must be given by the government to the community," he said.

The Vice Regent added that the service for the elderly is expected to help them get the service because sometimes the elderly are confused when they seek treatment, especially on administration.

"Elderly who is treated sometimes confused during the administration process, not to mention if the physical condition is weak so pity they have to linger queuing to be served," he said.

President Director of Ratu Zalecha Martpura dr Eko Subiyanto said, the number of patients who treated per day reached 300 to 400 people and as many as 60 of whom are elderly.
