Batulicin, S Kalimantan, May 7 (Antara)- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) symbolically presented Healthy Indonesia Cards (KIS) to inhabitants of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, on Sunday.

In Addition to KIS, the Head of State also distributed Smart Indonesia Cards (KIP), Family of Hope Program (PKH) fund and food supplement (PMT) to 36 thousand villagers, Mardani Maming, District Head of Tanah Bumbu, said.

Every recipient of PKH will get Rp1.8 million annually that could be disbursed in four stages.

Starting this June, the social allowance would be increased Rp500 thousand, to Rp2.3 million.

This year, a total of 10 million people have received PKH fund, and the number is expected to increase in 2018.

In Tanah Bumbu, 395 people received KIP cards from the President. Under the KIP program, every elementary student is given Rp450 a year, and a high school student Rp1 million annually to buy stationary and uniforms.

"The Government wants Indonesian children to be smart and clever. Therefore, by having this program, there should be no reason for students to drop out of school because of financial problem.

The Jokowi Administration has also distributed Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS) that guarantees and ensures the provision of healthcare services to the disadvantaged, as implemented through the National Health Insurance (JKN).
