Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaraNewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda) formed a special team to hunt down four detainees who escaped from it detention.


"Four detainees who escaped from Polda detention were all from drug cases," said Head of Public Relations of South Kalimantan Regional Police AKBP Mochamad Rifai in Banjarmasin on Wednesday.

He said that at this time police from all ranks of South Kalimantan Regional Police are still pursuing detainees who escaped on Wednesday morning around 06.00 am.

"Their escape was known at around 6 am Wednesday morning, whereas before when checkd by the guard at around 04:00 the four were still in the cell," said head of PR to AntaranewsKalsel.

They escaped by destroying the iron bars in their cells using a hacksaw, then broke into the clothes drying room at the back.

Escaped from the cell, the drug detainees went down from the prison building using a cloth tied together as a rope.

Rifai said South Kalimantan Regional Police chief has ordered a special team to immediately caught the escaped prisoners. While the perpetrators are suggested to immediately surrender before being caught and taken decisive action on the ground.
