President asked Swarangan port devt progress to be accelerated

Pelaihari, South Kalimantan 21/4 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Regent Bambang Alamsyah said President Joko Widodo asked the Tanah Laut government that the progress of Swarangan seaport development in Jorong sub-district to be accelerated.

"The President's message to accelerate the progress of the Swarangan port development was delivered directly to the Governor of South Kalimantan and then delivered to me," said Tanah Laut Regent Bambang Alamsyah in Pelaihari, Friday.

In response, the regent requested the Secretary of Tanah Laut and the team to prepare everything needed to report the progress of the continued development of the seaport to Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister.

He said that now the Swarangan seaport development already has environmental impact analysis (EIA) document issued by South Kalimantan Environment Agency, including other documents from prosecutor's office.

Previously, the regent also revealed, the certainty of the continuation of seaport development after the issuance of master plan from the Ministry of Transportation.

The budget for the continuation of seaport development from the central government through the Ministry of Transportation, he said, around Rp168 billion.

In support of the acceleration development of Swarangan seaport, Tanah Laut district has granted a land area of ​​six hectares. While the central government establishes Jorong Sub-district as a national strategic area.
