Regent Tabalong rejects mini crumb rubber

Tanjung, South Kalimantan 22/3 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Regent Tabalong Anang Syakhfiani refuses discourse of making mini crumb rubber to accommodate the local rubber on the grounds are not effective for quality improvement programs.

"There was previously a discourse to build mini crumb rubber, but after we analyzed it is not in line with community movement to improve rubber quality (Gemas Mekar) launched two years ago," said Anang in Tanjung, Wednesday.

Gemas Mekar itself is the most inexpensive and effective way to improve the quality of rubber by producing a product from raw rubber initial processing (Bokar) in the form of sit wind and no longer lump bowl which dryness levels are still low.

Anang stated that currently a number of Bokar Processing and Marketing Units (UPPB) in Tabalong began concentrating on improving the quality of rubber, including in the sub-district of Haruai and Muara Uya.

"Now some UPPB can produce rubber with dryness levels 60 to 65 percent and Other farmers are expected to produce bokar with a higher dryness," he said.

Previously, some group of rubber farmers who have developed clean bokar are "Pelita Abadi" of Masingai I Village, "Mufakat" of Usih Village, "Gawi Bersama" of Bongkang, "Jawa Utama" of Catur Karya, "Morang" of Nawin, and "Gawi Sabumi" of Halong.
