S Kalimantan hajj qeue shrunk to eight years

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 21/3 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Long queue of hajj in South Kalimantan shrank to eight years after haj quota increasing by 781 people in 2017.

"Because of haj quota addition, it automatically cut the distance line, we expect up to eight years," said Head of Hajj and Umrah Management of South Kalimantan Regional Office of Religious Affairs Ministry H Syukeriansyah here on Tuesday.

The hajj quota before was 3,050 people, with a line pilgrim today reaches 94 thousand haj pilgrim candidates, so the queue reached 31 years. But with quota addition of 781 people or become 3,831 people, then the line was reduced to 23 years.

We should be grateful that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia increased our haj quota, said Syukeriansyah, because it can accelerate the Indonesian to be able to perform the hajj as the fifth pillars of Islam.

"Moreover, the interest to hajj in our region is very high, on average annually seven to eight thousand register and get seat number," he said.

He stated there is no obstacle in the process of preparation for the hajj in 2017, but it will continue to pay proper attention to every detail, more over after pilgrims increases.

Syukeriansyah said haj pilgrim candidates in 2017 will occupy a new three-star hotel standard which has just been constructed for their accommodation facilities.
