Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 13/3 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin traffic police (Satlantas) is handling the case of a traffic accident that resulted a German citizen died.


"The case is being handled by Satlantas and motorists who brushed her have been secured," said Banjarmasin Police Chief Senior Commissioner (Kombes) Anjar Wicaksana Sik, Monday.

He said the traffic accident occurred on Sunday (12/3) afternoon, at around 11:30 am at Km 5.5 Jalan Ahmad Yani exactly at the zebra crossing in front of Banjar Indah Complex.

When Puniri (30), a resident of Jl Pekapuran Raya, riding a Honda Beat from Manarap Market Km 8 on his way home. As he was crossing Km 5.5 he accidentally nudged the hand of a pedestrian who was crossing the road.

It happened, when the rider was turning back communicating with his wife. They fell and the victim who was crossing also fell and injured.

The victim, Maria Felicitas (70), of a German nationality, was  with her husband. She was immediately evacuated to the Sari Mulia Hospital to get medical help.

Not long after getting medical treatment, the victim later died, while the rider and his wife secured in Banjarmasin Police office.

"Over the traffic accident the material loss is estimated to approximately Rp100,000," said the man was a former Director of Special Criminal of South Kalimantan Regional Police.
