Kotabaru Regent H Sayed Jafar had been awarded by Metro TV, a national television news network in Indonesia, for his efforts in developing tourism in Bumi Saijaan (Kotabaru's nickname).
"This award becomes a motivation for me to further improve and develop tourism that is expected to have an impact on people's economy," he said here, Wednesday.
He thanked the management of Metro TV for designating Kotabaru as the Best Local Tourism Development.

This is proof that people in Kotabaru continue to support the progress and development of tourism.
"We dedicate this award to the people of Kotabaru to motivate the develoment of tourism and continue to innovate," he said.
Meanwhile, to receive the People Of The Year 2024 award in category of Best Local Tourism Development for Kotabaru Regent H. Sayed Jafar was represented by Head of Kotabaru Tourism, Youth and Sports Agency Sonny Tua Halomoan at Studio 3 Metro TV Jakarta accompanied by Expert Staff for Economy Johanuddin and Head of Communication and Informatics Agency Gusti Abdul Wakhid.
The Best Local Tourism Develoment award was also proof of the success of Kotabaru Regent's vision and mission in leading Kotabaru District to continue to develop rapidly growing tourism.
At the end of his tenure, Regent H. Sayed Jafar again and again received awards, both at regional and national levels. This showed Sayed Jafar's commitment to developing Kotabaru, especially in tourism.
Tourism development in Kotabaru continues to experience increasing changes in the hands of Regent H. Sayed Jafar, making Bumi Saijaan as a touris destination in South Kalimantan. All of this can be felt by the people of Kotabaru.
