PDAM Tabalong Targets to Produce Bottled Water

Tanjung, South Kalimantan  (AntaranewsKalsel) - The government owned taps company PDAM Tabalong targeting Drinking Water Treatment System (SPAM) of Muara Uya Sub-district Installation (IKK) to produce bottled water as a diversification as well as to increase revenue. 

Director of PDAM Tabalong Abdul Bahid in Tanjung on Sunday said the company is preparing a study specifically on the quality of raw water as the main ingredient of bottled or packaged water.

"We also to conduct a study to a number of PDAM that are already producing bottled drinking water, including the quality of raw water in the sub-district of Muara Uya," said Abdul.

Producing bottled water will be a breakthrough for the company to increase revenue through business development in addition to providing clean water services for customers.

PDAM Tabalong owns means of support in the form of SPAM IKK Muara Uya as a first step to realize the taps business development in the distribution of clean water and drinking water for the community.

Facilities have been built among are the Water Treatment Plant and other supporting buildings by Public Works Agency worth Rp7.7 billion.

Installation of distribution pipe along 3.1 kilometers which funds from the district budget amounting to Rp3.4 billion and Rp3 billion for procurement of distribution network.

Furthermore, in SPM IKK will be built a showroom ofbottled water with the name "Bersinar" and the diversification effort is targeted to be realized in 2018.

Meanwhile, the number of PDAM Tabalong subscribers reached 16,000 with 10 Water Treatment Plants (WTP) spread over a number of sub-districts.
