Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 14/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Pertamina admitted the distribution of 3 kilograms liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) canisters for all South Kalimantan was disturbed, resulting of scarcity in the market.


In its press-release in response to public complaints about the scarcity, PT Pertamina (Persero) Marketing Operation Region VI on Tuesday said it happened due to bad weather, hampering distribution in the area, since Wednesday (8/2).

BMKG issued a warning of bad weather and high waves to the southern waters of South Kalimantan, said Area Manager Communications & Relations Kalimantan Dian Hapsari.
 
Related to this, she said, LPG transport ships prohibited to sail since February 8, particularly for large-sized ships under 1,000 DWT.

With the operation of the ship back to the LPG Mini Depot in Banjarmasin since February 12, the stock confirmed recovered within 3 days ahead, she said.

Currently, said Dian, stock of LPG was recorded 1200 metric tons (MT) at the depot and is in the process of distribution. LPG tankers will arrive back at the depot carrying 550 MT next day.

"LPG Depot Banjarmasin is LPG terminal which supplies LPG in South Kalimantan with a capacity of up to 1,600 MT," she explained.
