Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan Antaranews) - Chairman of the Association Of Indonesian Tours And Travel Agencies (ASITA) Asmawi Bahar said the boycott of selling Garuda Indonesia tickets by all members could interfere the national tourism.
Asmawi in Banjarmasin on Tuesday said the boycott by ASITA members should immediately get the attention of government, especially the management of PT Garuda Indonesia, to quickly find solutions more wisely to help the travel agent.
As is known, since last week, all ASITA members, especially in South Kalimantan, strike to sell Garuda Indonesia tickets after the issuance of policy to decrease commission from three to two percent.
"With only two percent commission and decreased with tax, then ASITA members could hardly enjoy the benefits, while operating cost on ticket sales continue to rise," he said.
Asmawi revealed, although the a decrease in commission was accompanied by incentives, it will cause new problems. Fellow members of ASITA will "kill"each other to reach the target as a condition to get the incentives.
"Of course this is a policy that should be re-examined, given the cooperation between ASITA and Garuda has been very harmonious," he said.
If this condition is not immediately be resolved, he said, it feared would disrupt the growth of national tourism, since all members of ASITA concentration no longer to attract national and international travelers.
